Our Story In a Nut-Shell

I never knew what a blessing it would be to have a family of my own, my husband and my children give me purpose, guidance, and endless love and support.

Lance and I met in San Diego, fell in love and moved in together all in one instant on September 30, 1993. We were just kids ourselves 19 and 20 living in a flop house of sorts with some of my very best friends. We moved on to live in several different areas of San Diego for the next four years, and then moved "home" to the San Francisco Bay Area. Lance was raised in Sacramento just and hour and a half north of Lafayette, my hometown. I was pretty sure after living with my parents for the first six months in the bay area that we were meant to last.

When I graduated from College in 1998 were lucky enough to get to do the classic back-pack/ euro rail trip through Britain, Europe and Greece for three months; after that there was no doubt we were going to make this thing work for a lifetime.

On September 29, 2001 we had a dream wedding in the mountains of Santa Cruz. Weekend in a fun hotel with rooms for all of our guests. Steam train ride up the mountain to a grove of trees, married by my Dad's best friend (Internet certified), dogs serving as the ring bearers and flower girls, sans shoes (me) a wedding party of our very best friends both now and then, a reception with the very best vegetarian buffet and the band that we hung out with nearly every weekend. An honeymoon in Hailey, ID via RV dogs and all. We had planned on Costa Rica but changed we were married just 18 days after 9/11 and decided to wait on that, we plan to go next year for our 10Th wedding anniversary.

On August 9, 2002 yeah that's just 11 months later we were blessed with our first baby girl Sierra Hailey Dixon-Remington, named after the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Hailey, Idaho. Sierra is beautiful, creative, sweet and compassionate, she is a joy to all those lucky enough to know her.

22 months later, on the summer solstice, June 21, 2004 we were chosen to be the parents of a very special soul, Savannah Michele Dixon-Remington. Savannah is an old soul with a unique flair, she is tough as nails, a true individual and she teaches us and those who love her unconditional love every day.

On July 15, 2005 (yes that is less than a year later) we were graced with our one and only baby boy, Lance William Dixon-Remington Jr. Lance is sweet as pie, a true mamma's boy, his Daddy's pride and joy. He is too smart for his own good and talented at all things athletic. We truly believe Savannah and Lance were meant to be twins, God just knew I couldn't handle them both at one time.

Yes if you've been doing the math, that's 3 kids in 34 months, we figured out what was causing it and had that addressed. We were lucky enough to live next door to my parents for almost two years when we had three kids running around in diapers, we would never have made it through all the challenges that our three wild ones have presented us with without the support of our families. We have the most supportive extended family anyone could ask for and are eternally grateful for all they have and continue to do for us.

In January of 2006 Lance Dixon-Remington Sr. was offered what has turned out to be the job of his dreams and we picked the family up and moved across the country to San Antonio, TX. We have made so many dear friends and have the best neighbors ever, we love living in Texas and feel grateful for the life we have created here.

Lance works in Liquid Natural Gas for a privately owned company in New Braunfels called Salof Refrigeration. He travels all over the world selling, planning, building and fixing LNG plants. After being a stay-at-home mom for six years, I began the job of my dreams and absolutely love working as a yoga and Pilate's teacher, while still being able to drop and pick the kids up at school everyday.

Life is beautiful and gets better with each passing year, we are truly blessed.

  2. It is us who are blessed by the eternal power who found the perfect match for our wild child and in turn ... gave us the precious gift of being grandparents ....
